Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will announce his bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination Wednesday evening in a dialog with Twitter proprietor Elon Musk, a spokesperson for his political workforce tells CNN.

The announcement, which was first reported by NBC Information, will happen at 6 p.m. ET on Twitter Areas, the place the platform’s customers can take part in audio conversations, and will likely be moderated by tech entrepreneur David Sacks.

CNN has reached out to Musk for remark. The tech titan publicly confirmed the dialog at a Wall Road Journal occasion Tuesday.

“I will likely be interviewing Ron DeSantis, and he has fairly an announcement to make. And will probably be the primary time that one thing like that is occurring on social media and with real-time questions and solutions, unscripted,” Musk mentioned, including that he was not planning to endorse a candidate “right now.”
