Little smokies are one of the quickest ways to assemble a satisfying appetizer. They rehearse well, require minimal prep, and feed a crowd with very little fuss. If you like bacon-wrapped mini sausages, those are delicious too, but these crockpot little smokies are even faster and just as addictive.

Crockpot Little Smokies

This recipe uses only three ingredients: a jar of chili sauce, a cup of grape jelly, and little smokies sausages. The resulting glaze is sweet, slightly tangy, and clings to the sausages as they slowly cook. The same sauce is an excellent match for frozen meatballs if you want to switch it up.

Cook time is flexible: on high the sausages are ready in about 2–3 hours, while on low they need 4–6 hours. Cooking on low is my recommendation so the little smokies have time to absorb the sauce and plump up. Stir once halfway through to ensure even coating and to prevent sticking.

When the smokies are tender and the sauce is simmering, they’re ready to serve. Arrange them on a platter with toothpicks for easy grabbing—this hearty, flavorful appetizer disappears fast at gatherings.
