Only 3 ingredients and you can have delicious, fall-inspired, Apple Cider Donuts!

One of my favorite things about fall is wrapping up in a blanket with a warm drink. Hot chocolate is great, but apple cider is a seasonal favorite—bright, tangy apple flavor with a hint of sweetness. That apple-cider flavor inspired these easy Apple Cider Donuts.
If you know my quick-and-easy donut hacks, you know I like shortcuts. For these I used frozen Rhodes white dinner rolls for a yeast-dough texture without the fuss of making dough from scratch. Beyond the rolls, you only need apple cider drink mix and oil for frying. Three ingredients, minimal effort, big fall flavor.

These donuts have the classic cinnamon-sugar-style coating, but the apple cider mix gives them a tangy-sweet finish. Think of them as a soft, pastry version of that bright, fruity candy — but better warm and fresh. They’re perfect for Halloween gatherings, weekend breakfasts, or an after-school treat.

Ingredients
- 12 Rhodes White Dinner Rolls
- 5 packets Apple Cider Mix
- Oil, for frying
Instructions
-
Thaw the frozen rolls on a greased baking sheet, covered with lightly greased plastic wrap, until they are almost doubled in size.
-
Remove the plastic wrap. Press your thumb through the center of each roll to create a donut hole and gently stretch the dough without fully deflating it. Repeat with all rolls.
-
Pour oil into a pot to a depth of about 1½ to 2 inches and heat until hot. Fry two donuts at a time, turning once, until golden brown on both sides.
-
Drain briefly on paper towels to remove excess oil, then while still warm toss each donut in apple cider mix in a bowl until coated. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
