I’m obsessed with these little treats! If you love the sweet-and-salty combination as much as I do, these Dark Chocolate Trail Mix Bites are perfect. I tend to balance every sweet bite with something salty—after dinner I almost always want a piece of chocolate or a tart gummy to finish. These bites deliver that ideal contrast in one small, satisfying finger food.

They’re quick to make and versatile—perfect for parties, neighbor gifts, or a road-trip snack. I love popping a couple of these when I need a little pick-me-up. They look attractive, taste great, and are made from wholesome ingredients: dark chocolate, nuts, and dried fruit. Best of all, the recipe uses just two ingredients, so they’re incredibly easy to prepare.

Ingredients
- ½ cup dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup antioxidant trail mix (use a mix you enjoy; nuts, seeds, and dried fruit work well)
Instructions
-
Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir, then continue in 10–15 second bursts, stirring between each, until fully melted. Be careful not to overheat or burn the chocolate.
-
Drop about a heaping teaspoon of melted chocolate onto a sheet of wax paper. Use the back of a spoon to spread it into a small round disk. Repeat until you have roughly 16 disks.
-
Immediately press small pieces of trail mix into each chocolate disk so they stick as the chocolate cools. Allow the bites to set completely at room temperature or place in the refrigerator for faster setting. Serve and enjoy.
