*I’m excited to introduce my friend Holly, who’s sharing a healthy smoothie recipe today. She knows a lot about nutritious eating—listen up! 🙂 ~Amber

Hi Dessert Now, Dinner Later readers! I’m Holly from Happy Food Healthy Life, where I celebrate all kinds of food—some indulgent, some nourishing. My approach centers on moderation, balance, and enjoying food without guilt. When Amber invited me to contribute to her Healthy Food, Healthy You series, I was thrilled. After the holidays, I’m eager for fresh, health-focused recipes. With so many colds and flu going around, I wanted to create a smoothie that feels bright, immune-supporting, and soothing. I chose oranges for a vitamin C boost, fresh ginger to help with aches, digestion, and inflammation, and carrots for added nutrients and natural sweetness.

Ginger Orange Smoothie

I build my meal-replacement smoothies on a consistent base: oats, a scoop of protein powder, chia and flax seeds, Greek yogurt, and water. From there I add seasonal produce and flavor boosters. Since I started blending regularly, I’ve stayed healthy despite the sniffles around me, and I feel energized and ready for the day.
