Brownie closeup

Peanut butter and chocolate are one of my favorite flavor pairings, and these brownie bites deliver. The frosting tastes similar to the peanut butter centers found in classic candy—think Reese’s cups or buckeye centers—making every bite creamy and satisfying.

Peanut Butter Brownie Bites

Created by Amber Brady

36 bite size brownies

Ingredients

  • 18.3 oz (520 g) box brownie mix for a 13×9-inch pan (“Family Size”)
  • Ingredients called for on the brownie mix box (example: 1/4 cup water, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, and 2 eggs)
  • 1 cup (237 ml) milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup (198 g) peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup (57 g) butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-3 tsp heavy cream, to reach spreadable consistency

Instructions

  • Prepare the brownie batter according to the directions on the box. Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into a greased 8×8 or 9×9 inch square pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  • Make the peanut butter frosting by beating the powdered sugar, peanut butter, butter, and vanilla together in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or using a hand mixer in a large bowl. Add heavy cream 1 teaspoon at a time until the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.
  • Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies. Cut into 1–2 inch squares. If desired, dust lightly with additional powdered sugar before serving.
