Mini Mummy Pizzas are a fun and easy dish kids can help make for Halloween!

Each year I enjoy joining friends to share cute Halloween ideas that families can make together. These Mini Mummy Pizzas are simple, kid-friendly, and perfect for a family activity. Toddlers through older kids can join in, making their own little creations while adults handle any oven work.

These mini pizzas make a great Halloween dinner or party snack. They’re quick to assemble and let everyone show creativity when designing faces and mummy wrappings. The ingredients are everyday items you can find at any grocery store.

What you need: English muffins, pizza sauce, mozzarella string cheese, and black olives. Split the English muffins and arrange the halves on a baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each half, then pull apart the string cheese into thin strips and crisscross them over the sauce to mimic mummy bandages. Add small olive pieces for eyes and other facial details. Bake until the cheese is melted and the muffins reach your preferred level of crispness.

If you like a crisp crust and bubbly, golden cheese, bake a little longer. If you prefer the cheese to stay whiter so the “bandages” are more defined, shorten the baking time. Either way, these are fast to prepare and ideal for a busy Halloween evening.

Encourage children to create different expressions—surprised, sleepy, silly—by varying the olive placement. Making a batch together is a great way to bond and have fun with a holiday-themed meal.

Mini Mummy Pizzas
Ingredients
- English Muffins
- Pizza Sauce
- Mozzarella String Cheese
- Black Olives
Instructions
-
Cut each English muffin in half and place the halves on a baking sheet.
-
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each muffin half.
-
Pull apart the string cheese into narrow strips and crisscross them over the sauce to create a mummy-wrapped look.
-
Slice olives into small rounds and use them to form eyes or other facial features.
-
Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 12 minutes for a crisp crust and bubbly cheese. Reduce baking time if you prefer the cheese to stay whiter and the bandage lines more visible.
Notes
Adjust baking time to your oven and desired texture. Supervise young children around knives and the oven. Use pre-sliced or pre-shredded cheese if you prefer.
