  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for honey butter)

Allow the frozen loaf to thaw and rise slightly at room temperature until it’s pliable and easy to work with.

Gently roll the loaf into a 20–22 inch rope. Shape it into a circle, pinch the ends together, and place it in the bottom of a well-greased bundt pan. If you don’t have a bundt pan, place the ring on a silicone-lined baking sheet. Cover loosely with lightly greased plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Remove the plastic wrap and bake the loaf 20–25 minutes, or until it is lightly browned. If you baked on a sheet and the loaf isn’t a perfect ring, you can carve a small hole in the center after baking to emphasize the ring shape.

Let the loaf cool enough to handle. Make cuts lengthwise and widthwise about 1 inch apart, taking care not to cut through the bottom crust—this creates pockets for the honey butter and makes the loaf pull-apart friendly.

Prepare the honey butter by combining the softened butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in the honey and vanilla. Spread the honey butter into each cut—you may not use all of it; reserve any excess for serving later. For extra flavor, mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and sprinkle it into the cuts as well.

Wrap the prepared loaf loosely in foil and place it on a baking sheet. Warm it in a 350°F oven for 15–20 minutes so the butter melts into the bread.

While the loaf is warming, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk to make a smooth glaze. When the loaf is warm, spread or drizzle half of the glaze over the top and immediately sprinkle the silver and gold pearlized sugar before the glaze sets so the sprinkles stick. Serve the remaining glaze in a small bowl alongside the loaf for dipping.

Total: 55 mins
8 to 10 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Rhodes™ bread, thawed to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for honey butter)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (optional, to mix with cinnamon)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • Silver and gold pearlized sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  • Roll the thawed loaf into a 20–22 inch rope. Form into a circle and place in the bottom of a sprayed bundt pan or on a silicone-lined baking sheet. Cover with lightly greased plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove the wrap and bake 20–25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly, then make cuts lengthwise and widthwise about 1 inch apart, being careful not to cut through the bottom crust.
  • Combine the softened butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in honey and vanilla. Spread the honey butter into each cut. If using, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle between the cuts for extra sweetness and flavor.
  • Wrap the loaf in foil and place on a baking sheet. Warm in a 350°F oven for 15–20 minutes to melt the butter into the bread.
  • Whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk to make a glaze. Drizzle or smear half the glaze over the warmed loaf and immediately sprinkle the pearlized silver and gold sugar so it adheres. Serve the remaining glaze in a small bowl for dipping.

Notes

For the best presentation, apply the sprinkles while the glaze is still wet. Leftover honey butter is delicious spread on toast.
