Homemade Honey Mustard Sauce is simple to make and a perfect dip for chicken, corn dogs, and more!

This easy honey mustard recipe is one you’ll wonder why you ever bought pre-made. It pairs beautifully with grilled chicken, popcorn chicken, nuggets, corn dogs, and many other dishes. The balance of mustard, mayo, and honey makes a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet sauce that kids and adults love.

In our house this sauce is a regular with Malibu Chicken, but it’s versatile enough to be served with any fried or grilled protein, roasted vegetables, or even as a sandwich spread. If you forget to make it when serving a favorite meal, someone is sure to notice—my kids always request it.

The base formula is equal parts mustard, mayonnaise, and honey. From there you can season with black pepper to taste and add a pinch of paprika if you like a hint of smokiness. Experimenting with types of mustard (all yellow, all Dijon, or a combination) lets you tailor the flavor to your preference.

This sauce can also double as a salad dressing when thinned with a splash of water or lemon juice—another way to enjoy its bright, balanced flavor. Make a batch and keep it in the fridge; it stores well for several days.
