Hi friends! Today’s post is a bit different, but it’s very meaningful to me.
Our family belongs to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often called “The Mormons.” We are proud of our faith and happy to join more than 65 others in inviting you to see the film “Meet the Mormons.” This documentary shares six true stories of people who have followed promptings to draw closer to Jesus Christ. It’s not intended as a recruitment tool, but as an opportunity to inspire and uplift. All proceeds from the film will be donated to the American Red Cross, so you’ll leave encouraged while supporting a worthy cause.
We’d also like to share personal testimonies: stories of conversion and how following our Savior, Jesus Christ, has changed our lives. The gospel brings light, joy, and hope that we believe come through a relationship with Christ. As you read our experiences and testimonies, we hope you feel uplifted and encouraged. We appreciate connecting with readers, and many of us write to share what matters most to us.

MY STORY… I’m both excited and nervous to share my testimony. Faith is deeply personal, but with “Meet the Mormons” in theaters I welcome the chance to share a little about life as a Latter-day Saint.
Life can be difficult, but my faith gives life meaning and purpose. I believe God knows me personally and sends tender mercies and blessings in both joyful and trying times. I’m not perfect, but I’m trying my best, trusting Christ to help me grow.
One gospel principle that has shaped my life is tithing—freely giving 10% of our increase to the Lord through His church. Tithing is an expression of gratitude and trust, a way to put spiritual priorities above material concerns.
A clear example happened when my husband and I were newly married and expecting our first child. I was the primary breadwinner, working long bakery hours while my husband attended college and worked part-time. Near the end of my pregnancy I was exhausted, my feet terribly swollen, and I decided to start maternity leave early to protect my health. That meant less income at a time when we were already budgeting carefully.
Shortly after I began leave, someone accessed our debit card and drained nearly all the money from our checking account. We were shocked and afraid—the funds were meant to carry us through until after the baby arrived. We filed fraud claims, but reimbursing the account would take weeks, and we still had bills to pay.
Faced with those uncertain weeks, we had a choice: keep our limited cash, or pay tithing. Even though money was tight, we chose to pay. Soon afterwards we received an anonymous letter containing a $100 bill and a kind note suggesting it be used for food, baby, or medical needs. I cried. That generosity felt like an answer to prayer and a tender mercy.
Some might call that luck, but I felt it as a blessing that came when we acted in faith. That experience strengthened my testimony that keeping spiritual commitments invites the Lord’s help in real, tangible ways.
Tithing is just one of the many blessings I appreciate as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My faith gives peace amid confusion, direction amid uncertainty, and a hope that families can be together forever when sealed in the temple and when we strive to live God’s commandments.
