March means basketball season, and this quick, crowd-pleasing snack is ideal for a viewing party. The timeless pairing of peanut butter and chocolate is a guaranteed hit for sports gatherings or any celebration.
This version takes classic Muddy Buddies up a notch by doubling down on both peanut butter and chocolate, then folding in Reese’s Pieces and Reese’s Minis for extra color, candy crunch, and flavor. Because really—there’s no such thing as too much peanut butter and chocolate.

We love watching basketball—my husband and I even attended the same college nearby and went to our first basketball game together on our first date. This season our team is playing well again, and my kids always find an excuse to celebrate. For game day, the food is the star, and our local Kroger (Smith’s) has everything we need to stock the best snack table, including the ingredients for these Reese’s Muddy Buddies.

How to Make Reese’s Muddy Buddies
This recipe is made for peanut butter and chocolate lovers and is simple to prepare. You’ll create two small batches—one chocolate-coated and one peanut-butter-coated—then combine them with Reese’s candies for a festive snack mix. (This same flavor combo works great on popcorn too.)

Begin with a batch of classic muddy buddies. For the chocolate-coated portion, melt semi-sweet chocolate chips with creamy peanut butter and butter in the microwave, stir in vanilla, then gently fold the mixture into cereal squares until evenly coated. Transfer to a zip-top bag with powdered sugar, seal, and shake to fully coat.

For the peanut butter-coated batch, repeat the process using peanut butter chips along with creamy peanut butter and butter. Melt together, add vanilla, coat cereal, then toss in powdered sugar using a sealed bag.

The candies—Reese’s Pieces and Reese’s Minis—are what make this mix extra special. They add texture, bursts of chocolate and peanut butter flavor, and a festive touch that’s perfect for parties.

We portioned the finished mix into small decorative cups for individual servings—always popular at gatherings—and everyone felt like the MVP.
