Fluff Salad Ingredients

Most fluff salads use the same basic components:

  1. Instant gelatin or pudding mix (for flavor)
  2. A creamy base: yogurt, cream cheese, or cottage cheese
  3. Whipped topping (Cool Whip) or freshly whipped cream
  4. Fruit: fresh, frozen, or canned
  5. Optional mix-ins: miniature marshmallows, nuts, cookie or graham cracker crumbs

This recipe uses cream cheese and cheesecake pudding for a true cheesecake flavor, plus strawberry yogurt and fresh berries for brightness. If you prefer cottage cheese or a more gelatinous jello-style salad, similar recipes swap those ingredients with tasty results.

A creamy, fruity salad made with cream cheese, cheesecake pudding, strawberry yogurt, fresh strawberries, and whipped topping, topped with crumbled graham cracker crust.
16 servings (Makes approximately 8 cups)

Ingredients

  • 8 oz block-style cream cheese, room temperature
  • 32 oz container strawberry yogurt, cold
  • 5.1 oz large box instant cheesecake pudding mix, dry
  • 8 oz container whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1–2 lbs fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 9-inch prepared graham cracker pie crust, crumbled (for topping)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric hand mixer until light and creamy.
  • Add the strawberry yogurt and instant cheesecake pudding mix. Blend with the mixer until smooth and evenly combined.
  • Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping and the sliced strawberries using a spatula to keep the mixture fluffy.
  • Break the graham cracker crust into crumbs and sprinkle on top just before serving. Alternatively, serve the crumbs on the side so guests can add their own.

Notes

*If you can’t find a 5.1 oz box of instant cheesecake pudding, use 1½ small (3.4 oz) boxes.

*Adjust the amount of strawberries to taste depending on how fruity you want the salad to be.

Tip: Use a sturdy egg slicer to cut even strawberry slices quickly.

*For extra tang, replace part of the yogurt with sour cream.
