The Creamy, Dreamy Filling: A Symphony of Flavors
At the heart of this spectacular pie is its unparalleled peanut butter-cream cheese filling. Imagine a texture so smooth and luxurious, it melts in your mouth just like premium ice cream. This velvety consistency is achieved by expertly blending cream cheese with sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, and rich, creamy peanut butter. But the deliciousness doesn’t stop there! We generously fold in chunks of mini peanut butter cups, ensuring that every spoonful offers a delightful burst of chocolatey peanut butter goodness. These hidden treasures provide a wonderful textural contrast and amplify the core flavors, making each bite an adventure.

The Perfect Foundation: A Rich Oreo Cookie Crust
What’s a perfect pie without an equally perfect crust? For this Frozen Peanut Butter Cup Pie, we’ve opted for a crust that’s as beloved as the filling itself: a classic Oreo cookie crust. That’s right – crushed Oreo cookies blended with melted butter create a dark, crunchy, and slightly salty base that perfectly complements the sweet and creamy filling. The rich chocolate flavor of the Oreos forms an ideal counterpoint to the peanut butter, enhancing the overall taste profile and adding another layer of texture that will leave you craving more. This cookie crust isn’t just easy to make; it’s a game-changer that elevates the entire pie experience, making it a true showstopper.

The Ultimate Decadent Topping and Serving Suggestions
To crown this masterpiece, we add a simple yet impactful topping that brings everything together. A generous drizzle of melted milk chocolate, perhaps thinned with a touch of coconut oil for a smoother flow, creates a beautiful zig-zag pattern across the pie. As it touches the frozen surface, the chocolate quickly hardens, forming delicate shards that add another textural dimension. And, of course, no Peanut Butter Cup Pie would be complete without a final sprinkle of halved mini peanut butter cups, making it visually stunning and utterly irresistible. This pie is a celebration of flavor and texture, a truly decadent treat that feels incredibly luxurious.
Seriously, you absolutely must make this pie! It’s an unforgettable dessert that promises pure satisfaction. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, looking for a refreshing summer dessert, or simply indulging your chocolate and peanut butter cravings, this pie delivers. It’s rich, it’s creamy, it’s crunchy, and it’s oh-so-easy to prepare. Every bite is a delightful journey into sweet, salty, and chocolatey goodness. Summer never tasted so good and so utterly decadent!
Tips for Making the Best Frozen Peanut Butter Cup Pie
- Chill Time is Key: Don’t rush the freezing process. Freezing the crust for at least 30 minutes before adding the filling ensures it sets properly and prevents it from becoming soggy. For the pie itself, an overnight freeze is always best for a perfectly firm and sliceable dessert.
- Room Temperature Cream Cheese: Ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature before beating. This will help you achieve that incredibly smooth, lump-free filling texture that makes this pie so delightful.
- Bulk Peanut Butter Cups: If possible, opt for bulk unwrapped mini peanut butter cups. It saves a lot of time and makes the process even simpler. If you can’t find them unwrapped, unwrapping them ahead of time will streamline your assembly.
- Melting Chocolate: When melting chocolate chips for the topping, do so gently in the microwave at half power, stirring frequently, to prevent scorching. A tiny bit of coconut oil can indeed help achieve a beautifully smooth, pourable consistency for drizzling.
- Clean Slices: For clean slices, run your knife under hot water and wipe it clean between each cut. This will help prevent the filling from sticking and give you beautifully presented slices.
- Storage: Store any leftover pie slices in an airtight container in the freezer. It will keep well for up to a week, ready for whenever a craving strikes!

Ingredients
For the Crust:
- 26 regular Oreo cookies
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted
For the Filling:
- 8 oz (226 g) package Neufchâtel cream cheese
- 1 cup (312 g) sweetened condensed milk (almost one 14oz can)
- ¼ cup (30 g) powdered sugar
- ½ cup (132 g) creamy peanut butter
- 8 oz (226 g) tub light Cool Whip
- 1 cup (170 g) mini peanut butter cups, halved (about 6oz in weight)
For the Topping:
- ½ cup (85 g) milk chocolate chips
- 1 tsp coconut oil, optional (helps thin the chocolate)
- ½ cup (85 g) mini peanut butter cups, halved (about 3oz in weight)
Instructions
-
In a food processor, place Oreos and process until fine crumbs. Transfer to a bowl and stir in melted butter; mix until it starts to clump together and everything looks wet.
-
Press crumb mixture evenly into a pie dish. We recommend using the bottom of a measuring cup to press the crumbs down and up the sides of the dish for an even crust.
-
Freeze the crust for 30 minutes to set.
-
For the filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk together with an electric mixer until smooth.
-
Mix in the powdered sugar and creamy peanut butter until just combined.
-
Gently fold in the Cool Whip and 1 cup of halved mini peanut butter cups. Pour the mixture into the frozen pie crust. Cover and freeze for 4 hours to overnight (overnight is highly recommended for best results).
-
Before serving, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in the microwave on half power until just melted and smooth. Transfer the melted chocolate into a zip-top bag with one corner snipped off. Squeeze the chocolate in a zig-zag pattern across the entire pie until all the chocolate is used. It will harden quickly as it touches the frozen pie. Sprinkle the top with the remaining ½ cup of halved mini peanut butter cups. Slice and serve immediately for optimal enjoyment.
