When my son had his tonsils removed, the doctor advised dairy-free options to avoid excess saliva that might irritate his healing throat. Instead of offering sugary popsicles, I wanted something soothing, nutritious, and cooling. A dairy-free smoothie was the perfect solution.
For this recipe I used Silk’s Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative and Silk Coconut Milk—staples in our kitchen. My son requested strawberries and mango, so I chose the strawberry-flavored Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative and paired it with frozen strawberries and mango chunks for a naturally sweet, refreshing blend.

Silk’s Yogurt Alternative comes in several fruit-forward flavors—Strawberry, Blueberry, Black Cherry, Vanilla, Tropical Pineapple, and Peach & Mango—and is made with real fruit and no artificial flavors or colors. It also provides soy protein, zero cholesterol, and is a good source of calcium and vitamin D. My kids enjoy the taste, and I appreciate the wholesome ingredients and convenience of a dairy-free option.
This Strawberry Mango Dairy Free Smoothie is quick to make, naturally sweet, and smooth in texture. It works well for breakfast, a mid-day snack, or a gentle dessert for someone recovering from a sore throat.

The recipe is simple and flexible—use the fruit flavors you prefer or what you have on hand. If you want a colder, thicker texture, add a few ice cubes or use more frozen fruit. The Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative gives the smoothie body and creaminess without dairy, making it a great choice when dairy is not recommended.
