Oreo Ice Cream Dessert

Prep: 15 mins
Total: 15 mins
12 servings

Ingredients

  • 19.1 oz (544 g) family size package Oreos (about 48 cookies)
  • 1/3 cup (75 g) butter, melted
  • 1/2 gallon (about 0.7 L) cookies and cream ice cream, softened
  • 11.75 oz (333 g) jar hot fudge
  • 8 oz (226 g) tub whipped topping, thawed

Instructions

  • Place cookies in a large zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin into medium chunks (avoid grinding to fine crumbs). Reserve 1 cup of the crushed cookies for the topping. Mix the remaining crushed cookies with the melted butter and press evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form the crust.
  • Spread the softened ice cream over the cookie crust in an even layer. If needed, cut the ice cream into rectangles and smooth them together for full coverage. Freeze until the ice cream is firm; timing depends on how soft it was when you started.
  • Warm the hot fudge in the microwave until spreadable, about 45–55 seconds, then drizzle over the ice cream and smooth with a spatula. Return to the freezer until the fudge sets, about 30 minutes.
  • Spread the whipped topping evenly over the chilled fudge layer and sprinkle with the reserved crushed Oreos. Freeze for about 2 hours or until fully firm. Remove from the freezer about 10 minutes before serving to make slicing easier; dipping a knife in hot water and wiping it clean between cuts helps achieve neat slices. Enjoy!
