Fresh strawberries and Nutella tucked inside warm, cinnamon-spiced bread make this Stuffed French Toast a family favorite—simple enough for older kids to help prepare.

French toast is one of our go-to breakfasts (and sometimes dinners). The warm, cinnamon-scented bread with syrup is always a hit with kids and adults alike. For this version, I stuffed each slice with Nutella and fresh strawberries to create a gooey, fruity surprise in every bite.

Picture warm, melty Nutella oozing out when you cut into the French toast and vibrant strawberry slices tucked inside—so good. The recipe is straightforward and adaptable, making it perfect for a weekend breakfast or a special treat.

This version is easy enough that many kids (around 8 and up) can handle most of the steps themselves with minimal supervision. Younger children can still join in to help spread Nutella or arrange strawberry slices—great for getting little helpers involved in the kitchen.

One of the best things about stuffed French toast is how flexible it is. Swap the filling to suit your preferences: sliced bananas with peanut butter, sweetened cream cheese with berries or chocolate chips—the options are endless and delicious.

Serve the stuffed French toast as-is, dusted with powdered sugar, or drizzled with maple syrup. It’s a decadent but quick treat that the whole family will love.
Strawberry & Nutella Stuffed French Toast
Ingredients
- 1 loaf Rhodes White Bread, risen, baked, and cut into 1-inch thick slices (about 10 slices)
- Fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced (tip: an egg slicer makes even pieces)
- Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Dash of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Spread Nutella across one slice of bread. Arrange a few strawberry slices on one half.
- Fold the bread over the strawberries and press the edges with a fork to seal. Repeat with remaining slices.
- Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon together on a large plate. Add a dash of salt if desired.
- Dip each stuffed sandwich in the egg mixture, coating both sides. Cook on a medium-hot griddle or large skillet coated with cooking spray until golden brown and cooked through, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with maple syrup. Enjoy!
