With the holidays wrapping up, life can get hectic—especially with a new puppy and a little one at home. These sliders are one of those recipes that feel like a treat but come together in no time. My eight-year-old declared them an instant favorite, and they’re now a contender for regular dinner rotation.

All you need are soft dinner rolls, mayonnaise or Miracle Whip (your choice), sliced ham and cheese, and a handful of pantry ingredients for the honey-Dijon butter sauce. These sliders work well with leftover holiday ham and make a great appetizer for New Year’s Eve or a crowd-pleasing addition to game day.

To assemble, slice the roll package in half with a serrated knife and arrange the bottom halves in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Spread a thin layer of mayo or Miracle Whip on the cut sides, then top each roll with a slice of cheese and a few pieces of ham. Finish by placing the top halves over the assembled sandwiches.

Whisk together melted butter, honey, Dijon (or yellow) mustard, poppy seeds, dried minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Brush or pour this flavorful mixture over the tops of the rolls so it soaks into the bread while baking.

Cover the pan with foil and bake in a 350°F oven for 25–30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 3–5 minutes to let the tops brown slightly. If you use a metal or thin pan, check for doneness earlier (around 15–20 minutes) so the bottoms don’t over-brown. Serve hot so the cheese is melty and the sauce has soaked into the rolls.

These sliders are undeniably tasty—the buttery honey-mustard glaze soaks into the bread and brings out the flavor of the ham and cheese. They’re a smart, delicious way to use leftover ham and an easy party-friendly option that’s always a hit.
